All-or-Nothing Funding

At RedCarpetHQ, we utilize an all-or-nothing funding model to protect both film creators and their supporters. This ensures that projects are only funded when they have the resources necessary to succeed.

Why is funding all-or-nothing?

We established the all-or-nothing model as a core measure to minimize risk for everyone in the film and entertainment ecosystem. By not releasing funds unless a project meets its Floor (minimum funding target), we ensure that:

* Producers have the minimum viable budget to deliver on their creative promises. You aren't expected to complete a feature film or documentary without the essential capital required for production.
* Supporters can back projects with confidence, knowing their USDC will only be committed to creative ideas that reach their critical funding milestone.

We’ve seen that having a Floor target to rally around creates a sense of urgency. It encourages early backers to become personally invested in the project's success, building a community that crosses the finish line together. Setting a Floor and only charging supporters if that goal is reached makes the fundraising process transparent and democratic.

How creators control all-or-nothing funding

Producers are responsible for setting their own financial Floor, optional Ceiling, and fundraising Deadline.

* Campaign Duration: A campaign can run for as little as one day or up to 270 days (platform maximum), though we find that 30 to 60 days often works best to maintain momentum and a sense of timeliness.
* Locked Parameters: Once a creator launches their project, the funding Floor and Deadline are locked in to maintain trust with supporters.
* No Pausing: For technical reasons on the blockchain, campaigns cannot be paused.
* Cancellations & Relaunches: If you decide that now isn't the right time for your project, you have the ability to Cancel the campaign. This will trigger immediate refunds for all supporters. While you'll need to re-engage your community for a future relaunch, Red Carpet HQ does not penalize relaunched projects. Sometimes a reset is exactly what a production needs to find its footing.

Clear, transparent communication is key

In the world of film and entertainment, creative processes are inherent with risk. Production schedules can shift, and challenges may arise that require changes to the initial vision.

When this happens, producers must communicate changes and delays clearly through Project Updates. Backing a film project is an investment in a creative journey, not a simple purchase, and honest presentation is essential to maintaining your community's trust.

Creative Work & Sustainable Labor

RedCarpetHQ is exclusively for original creative work in the film, movies, and entertainment space.

* Project Focus: Campaigns must produce a creative work that can be shared with supporters (e.g., a film, series, or interactive experience). You cannot raise money solely for personal expenses or general charities without a specific creative project.
* Fair Wages: It is crucially important that producers factor a fair salary for themselves and their crew into their project budgets. We believe that creative labor deserves a fair wage, and many of your supporters feel the same. This allows you to sustain your work and avoid burnout.
Nonprofits: Nonprofits are welcome to use Red Carpet HQ to realize creative projects. While you cannot donate raised money* directly to other charities, you can use the campaign to fund the creation of a film that supports your community or mission.

Thinking about how your project supports your own well-being and your creative community is not just allowed—it's encouraged.
